Expanding Access to Cancer Care
About PACE Programme.
Over the years, the ever-rising burden of Cancer has been linked to a widening disparity in access to effective and affordable targeted therapies. It was considering this that the Patient Access to Care Program (PACE) was launched in 2019; initially conceptualized as a Chemotherapy access program to increase access to cancer care services through discounted pricing arrangements with Pharmaceuticals.
Today, it has expanded to cover other facets of Cancer care.
PACE is a unique program established by the Medicaid Cancer Foundation (MCF-a non-profit, non-governmental organization) based on the need to have structured, affordable access to therapies and treatments that can ensure remission or palliate symptoms for individuals with advanced Cancer.The program focused on breast cancer at Inception. However, it has been modified to cover other forms of cancer like cervical, prostate and colon cancer. Currently, the program offers access to virtually all aspects of cancer care, medical and psychosocial; from diagnosis to treatment and beyond at a subsidized rates.

For over 17 years, Medicaid Cancer Foundation (MCF) has been dedicated to making cancer prevention, treatment, and care accessible to all Nigerians. Our flagship program, PACE (Patient Access to Cancer Care), is transforming lives by removing financial barriers to treatment.
- Free Radiotherapy – In partnership with the Foundation for Cancer Care, patients can now receive radiotherapy at no cost.
- Discounted Diagnostics – Through Medicaid Radio-Diagnostics, patients access heavily subsidized MRI, CT Scans, Breast MRI, Echocardiography, Tumor Markers, Ultrasound, Histopathology, and even PET Scan referrals.
- Subsidized Chemotherapy & Advanced Therapy – Supported by Roche Pharmaceuticals, Pfizer, Sanofi, Janssen & Janssen, ensuring cutting-edge treatment is within reach.
- Surgery Support – Financial assistance towards essential cancer surgeries
- Navigation & Support – From diagnosis through treatment, MCF provides patient navigation and psychosocial care.
