International Women’s Day 8th march

In observance of Cervical Cancer Awareness Month and to mark Cervical Cancer Elimination Week (22nd – 28th January), the program team at MCF organized a comprehensive Cervical Cancer Awareness Program at Government Science Technical College (GSTC) in Garki and the Federation of Muslim Women Associations (FOMWAN) to empower students and staff with essential knowledge about cancer, with a particular focus on cervical cancer. This event is part of a series of activities leading up to World Cancer Day on February 4th, aimed at spreading awareness, advocating for better cancer care policies and systems, and securing more funding for cancer research.

Emphasis was placed on the importance of early detection, prevention through vaccination, and routine screening for cervical cancer.

Engagement

The program engaged a total of 200 girls and 50 female staff members.

Interactive Sessions

The sessions were highly interactive, with the audience actively participating and asking numerous questions about the HPV vaccine’s side effects and other concerns. The program team provided clear, evidence-based information to alleviate fears and misconceptions. In addition to cervical cancer education, the outreach included valuable discussions on Nutrition, Drug abuse, HIV, Personal hygiene & Early detection of various health conditions.

We extend our appreciation to ACIEO Associates for their generous donation of sanitary towels, which were distributed to the girls to support their physical hygiene needs.
