We work with individuals, communities, healthcare professionals, government and partners to ensure that more people have the knowledge, services and support they need to prevent cancer where possible, detect it earlier and navigate the cancer journey with dignity

Our Journey
From a vision to a growing movement against cancer
Medicaid Cancer Foundation began with a clear conviction: too many people were being lost to cancers that could be prevented, detected earlier or treated more effectively if the right information and support reached them in time.
What started as a commitment to cancer awareness and patient support has grown into a broader movement spanning prevention, screening, patient navigation, treatment support, healthcare capacity building, advocacy and partnerships.
Over the years, our journey has been shaped by the people we serve, the communities that have opened their doors to us, the healthcare professionals who have worked alongside us, the partners who have believed in our mission and the patients whose courage continues to remind us why this work matters.

Our Milestones
The Beginning
A vision takes shape
Medicaid Cancer Foundation was established to respond to the growing burden of cancer and the profound inequalities affecting access to cancer information, screening, diagnosis and treatment.
From the outset, our focus was clear: bring cancer action closer to the people.
Early activities centred on community awareness, cancer education, screening and support for patients who otherwise faced significant barriers to care.

MCF began expanding its community outreach, taking cancer education directly to women, families, schools, workplaces, faith communities and underserved populations.
These engagements helped open conversations around cancer, challenge misconceptions and encourage people to seek screening and medical attention earlier.
Community engagement remains one of the foundations of our work today.

✓ Bringing early detection closer
As our work grew, so did our investment in cancer screening and early detection.
Through community outreaches, partnerships and targeted campaigns, MCF expanded access to screening services, particularly for breast and cervical cancers.
Over a decade of screening activity, more than 92,000 women have been reached through screening interventions, representing thousands of opportunities for earlier detection and timely referral.

Today, Medicaid Cancer Foundation works across multiple areas of cancer control—from prevention and screening to patient navigation, treatment support, workforce development and advocacy.

To ensure that more people have a fair chance against cancer.
The Journey Ahead
We are proud of how far we have come.
But cancer continues to place an enormous burden on individuals, families and health systems, and there is much more work ahead.
The next chapter of MCF will be about greater reach, stronger evidence, deeper partnerships, smarter use of technology, expanded patient support and even more ambitious efforts to close the gaps in cancer care.
Because every milestone behind us is a reminder of what is possible—and every life still affected by cancer is a reason to keep moving forward.
