Laurie Taurieinen, a Patient Navigator, Nurse for over 20years is in Nigeria through The Fulbright Program of the U.S. Department of State. Along with other specialists, She will be training 30 nurses, retired midwives and non-clinical social workers to become PROFESSIONAL PATIENT NAVIGATORS, who can guide cancer patients across the barriers their face in access to cancer care.
Laurie Taurieinen and the Project pink blue team led by Mr Runcie were received in Medicaid Radiodiagnostic office Abuja by the wife of the Kebbi state Governor Dr Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu and the Medicaid team. The two sides discussed extensively on ways to improve the cancer patient support systems in Nigeria.
4 Nurses from Kebbi state are attending the training. Also included is the Medicaid Cancer Foundation Kebbi state coordinator Haj Rukayya Manga.
