Medicaid Cancer Foundation (MCF) in collaboration with Health records officer registration board of Nigeria (HRORBN) has organized a two-day workshop themed “Harmonizing Cancer Registries for Effective Data Collection process in Nigerian Hospitals.
Since the establishment of the First Cancer Registry at University College Hospital, Ibadan in 1962, there have been efforts to spread cancer registration throughout the country, collate the data. As Chairperson today, H E Dr. Zainab Bagudu, founder of @medicaidcf said Cancer registration and data are integral components of cancer control in every country and called for more collaborative efforts in the strengthening of existing systems. She also stated that data is also a prerequisite for funding from international donors.

Present at the workshop was the Hon. Minister of State for Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, who welcomed the partnership. The Registrar/CEO HRORBN Alh. Muhammed Ibrahim Mami,welcomed participants and assured of his constant support. Also present was the Chairman House Committee on Health Services, Hon Chike Okafor.
